AlphaCert at CMSF 2018

AlphaCert Labs is thrilled to be exhibiting at the annual AIST CMSF 2018 event being held in Brisbane, 14-16 March. The event is a firm feature on our annual event calendar with over a 1000 delegates attending from the superannuation sector across Australia and beyond.

The industry’s Who’s Who are all here, and this is our opportunity to meet with – and hear firsthand – the biting issues facing the sector today and into the future. As the envy of the world, the Australian superannuation industry has an estimated AUD 2.5 trillion* held in retirement savings, but is a mere 26 years old. However, the industry is currently experiencing considerable external challenges, be that in the form of the Royal Commission, regulator reviews or parliamentary review, and this presents a distraction from staying true to the “members first” vision.

Embracing Change and Innovation

At her opening speech, AIST CEO Eva Scheerlinck stressed that the focus needs to be on members’ best interests and increasing returns, where external challenges facing the industry no longer diffuse focus from its members. Scheerlinck talked about the need for transparency in the industry as a way to build member trust. The funds of today have the ability to set the agenda for the future, and there is an opportunity to embrace change and innovation to this end.

But this raises the question of how these goals can be addressed. When there is so much pressure facing the industry to be transparent and to respond to market and regulatory demand, this creates the need to work with vast volumes of disparate data. And as the world embraces the 4th Industrial Age with the advent of machine learning, AI and blockchain technologies, among others, impacted too by the fact that data volumes are growing exponentially, this presents considerable challenges across the sector, for funds large and small.

At AlphaCert Labs, we’ve developed our flagship platform, AlphaCert in direct response to these data challenges, and events like CMSF further validate the problem is a very real one. Keeping “members first” front of mind is paramount, and with the AlphaCert platform in place, that objective may just be achievable. Please get in touch to hear more about what benefits AlphaCert delivers.
